Fascinating statements. I think maybe the fact that both feelings can be felt simulateously coincides with a possibility of every situation being different. So maybe it's good not to make a decision on what answer is right, but just treat each as a different situation. So one guy may just be out for beer money(and ive heard some honestly respond when asked why do you want change say I'm just looking for money to buy alchohol) and another may have just got evicted from his house and really be in need. I'm finding lately the hardest thing about homeless people is they aren't part of my schedule. They interrupt my time, my appointments, my desire to be selfish... so anything that gets in the way of that is hard to react to in a selfless way.
